Friends & Family...I don't like titles

I don't like having to come up with a title, I don't have a lot to say about just one topic, so its difficult to come up with something that summarizes all I talk about.

Last night we had another amazing worship night! We had 20 people in our movie room upstairs and had an incredible time of intimate worship! The experience can't be put into words, but it was just amazing! God totally showed up in our home! We celebrated the birth of Christ...Christmas and the resurrection of Christ. Without either one we wouldn't be here today. We took communion and sang and were just completely free to worship unhindered. I really needed the time and hope that Josh and I can be more intentional about doing it more often.

I'm so excited! We are celebrating Christmas Eve with my mom later today (because it is technically Tuesday now, I guess that's what happens when you've worked nights). Josh and I are going to join my mom and brothers in Albemarle. Its our tradition to open a gift on Christmas Eve. Lately we get a family gift, its normally a game and we play it after we open it. I love my family. I love getting together with my brothers...we always have so much fun. I'm so thankful for being so close to my family. It truly is a blessing. So, today is my Christmas Eve, tomorrow is my Christmas with my mom, we are having Brisket and spending the day together. Since tomorrow really is Christmas Eve, we will come back to Monroe, to celebrate with my Meme & Papa and that side of the family! I'm excited about that too. Whenever we get together there are always so many great stories! The real Christmas is the day after, and since I have to work, I won't be celebrating too much. I'll try to get up in time to go to my Dad's for breakfast, then head to the ER to take care of people.

Anyway, I love any chance to be with my friends and family, its the best thing in this world to me!

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! Remember, its not about the gifts, but time with family and friends!

BUSY

Okay, this isn't going to be a regular thing...posting so frequently, but we've had a busy, but great last two days. Last night we had dinner with our old neighbors (they used to live across the street, but moved about 5 minutes down the road), Will & Donna. We had pizza and coffee, it was nice to catch up with them. Then we came home and got ready for our Worship Night!

The worship night was awesome, there were 19 people crammed in our movie room! We sang several songs and had a lot of sharing of what God is doing among us. It was a great group of people, we had several friends from our old youth group and lots of friends from Parkwood. My mom came too. I loved that no matter where we were from, if we knew each other or not, we could still worship all together! In addition to great worship, we had lots of food, fellowship, and fun. We are planning the next one for December 21 at 9pm.

Today was great, my mom spent the night last night and we celebrated my birthday today. Mom made homemade chicken and dumplings....they were soooo good!! We had 7up poundcake for dessert. Both of my brothers were here and it I had a great time. Tonight we are going to watch a movie and tomorrow I think I'm going to go shopping!!

Christmas

Okay, I'm gonna try out this blogging thing. Mostly because Ashley Forsyth has pressured me into it! :) Anyway, we have lots of family and friends we don't get to stay in touch with as often as we'd like, so maybe this will help. Bear with me if I don't blog often...

Christmas... I love Christmas! I love decorating and baking and getting together with family and friends! This year we put 6 trees up in our house! Granted several of them are only a foot tall, but still. I thoroughly enjoyed decorating them and deciding where to put them. I love Christmas music and could listen to it all the time! I would have to say all of the songs from "A Charlie Brown Christmas" are my favorite! That is my favorite Christmas special as well. I don't know if its because it has the true meaning of Christmas or not, but it probably is.

The only thing I don't like about Christmas is gifts. Or at least meaningless gifts gotten because you feel obligated. My family, (Josh and I included) are so blessed! We really don't need anything and don't want people to buy "stuff" for us just because. I hate going places and getting gifts and not having something decent to give. Maybe, I'm not creative enough to think of good meaningful, heart-felt gifts, but oh well. This year however, Josh came up with a great idea for our family. I can't tell you yet, but I think its a great idea!

I love entertaining....tonight we are having dinner at our old neighbors house, Will & Donna and then we are coming home and having Praise & Worship! I love having people over. We have been cleaning and preparing for tonight all day! We rearranged the movie room and Josh set the sounds system up. I made two different types of cookies! I can't wait!
