Well, not much new has happened lately. We've been taking it easy as far as entertaining. I'm just doing the school and work thing. Josh is putting tile down in our bathroom, so far it looks so good!!! He needs to grout it and put the toilet back down. I think that's all that's left.
Tonight Blake is coming over! I'm so excited! I love any opportunity to see my family. Brandon (who might as well be a brother) is home from the Navy for a few weeks is coming over as well. We are going to get Zhong's (the best sesame chicken ever) and a movie! I'm excited!
I thought I had pics of the bathroom, but haven't put them on my computer yet. I'll just wait until its finished and post them then!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Therefore I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing praises to your name. 2 Samuel 22:50

Life
Well, life is back to normal, the holidays are over, all the Christmas decorations are down (well, almost all), school is back in session and I must admit, I have a little bit of the blues. We had such a great time over the holidays visiting with family and friends, our house seems so lonely and empty now.
We were really busy and thoroughly enjoyed all the company we had, I thought I would be happy for things to settle back down. Unfortunately I'm not. I'm pretty bummed, I guess seeing all the assignments for this semester and getting my work schedule for the next month is reality. Not having any time off and having a poorly arranged work schedule is kind of a downer. On top of all that the Panthers lost! What a shame! We did have my Dad, Ann and little brother and sister over for the game. Despite their loss...there's always next year!
I am excited about this coming August! Josh and I went to a camp for children with Down Syndrome last year, CAMP HORIZON!! Josh goes as a counselor and I'm one of the nurses. Last year was my second year and Josh's first year and we had an absolute blast! Its such a neat camp. Each child/camper is linked to their own counselor. Its one on one, which is so awesome! Anyway, I'm so excited for this time again. It is very busy and tiring, but so rewarding and so much fun! The kids do canoeing, fishing, archery, water slide, crafts, and tons of other stuff. One night we have a DJ come out and we have a dance, another night we sing camp songs, and the last night we have a talent show which is fun.
This year I think both of my brothers are coming with us! The more counselors the more campers can come. if you're interested let me know! This year the dates are August 20-23.

Liberia
I've had a horrible week at work, I'm entirely unhappy and while I am still pursuing my BSN, I don't see much need for it. At this point, I'm ready to quit and just forget nursing! Don't worry, I've got a plan. I'll find some temporary work and be more free to serve God. You may already know, but we are in the process of raising funds to travel to Liberia. Josh and I hope to raise $6,000. That will cover the expenses for both of us. The majority of the cost is in transportation. Josh and I sponser three children in an orphanage in Africa and will get the opportunity to meet them while overseas! In addition to giving a monthly contribution we have been able to buy clothes, book-bags, and shoes. All of this is packed in barrels and shipped overseas.
Josh and I will meet up with another student from Parkwood High School (the HS near our house, Josh has served at for the last several years) and serve alongside him. We are willing to do whatever we can to help. Josh mainly wants to build stuff and I wanna work with the kids! Josh will be preaching in the local churches and I will teach some Womens small group and provide a little medical teaching on hygiene and how to prevent other diseases in the area. We are super excited and just waiting and praying for the funds to come in. That's the hardest part right now, just waiting. Its easy to get frustrated, but we are trying to have faith that if we are supposed to go, everything will work out! We hope to go in March, so we can be there with Charlie (the student I mentioned earlier), but if we don't raise the funds, we will save them and go at a later time.
Please join with us in prayer for our trip! We'll definitely keep you posted!

Catch Up
See, this is what I was afraid of with trying to blog. We have been so busy and absolutely loved every second of it!
Let's see, Christmas and the day after was uneventful for me. I worked Christmas and he day after, I was off Saturday and we went to my dad's for dinner. Afterward we went to my cousin Jimmy's and played Guitar Hero World Tour. It was Josh, Jimmy, my brother Ricky, and me. We had a great time. Josh left a few minutes before he rest of us and then Ricky tucked the mic in his shirt and managed to play the guitar and sing The Beastie Boys at the same time! It was pretty amusing. I had to work Sunday through Tuesday and was fighting a cold the whole time! Tuesday night I got off work at 11 and went to Walmart to buy things for our New Years Party. It was nice, there were hardly any people there!! I got home, put the groceries away and we got in the hot tub! Just what I needed after 3 long days of work. New Year's Eve, I got up and tried to get motivated to clean the house. I just couldn't do it so I went to go pick up a few forgotten items from the store and pick up the fireworks!! I also had to stop by Lowe's because Josh decided on the 30th to add another AC vent to the movie room! I got home from Walmart to see a big white patch where he'd cut the wall out. He always does something at the last minute. Last year he painted the hall the day of the party. I love that he is so spontaneous (at least I do most of the time)!! Anyway, the room was perfect the night of the party and you couldn't even tell!!
This year was our third party and it so interesting how every time its different. Every year we have a blast and hope our guests to too. Last year we were all glued to the Wii, this year we did play some and really enjoyed it, but this year we played music! It was fun, we had beat-boxing and drums and lots of fun!
I must take a moment and mention the fireworks! We spent $120 of money from my Grandpa & his wife, for our firework show! This year, there wasn't quite as close a call as last year, but I really enjoyed them. We, all the spectators are petitioning to have a little fast set up for next year! It was sooo cold! The wick, I believe was part of the problem. I didn't buy the instant wick, so it took longer, but it still was fun. We came in afterward and warmed up by the fire.
This year, I will say was my favorite time. In years past, we've had the party and everyone goes home and I understand that, but when the house is empty, its kinda sad. Josh and I kinda go through withdrawal and get depressed because it so quiet. This year, we had 6 people stay and spend the night, only after our last guest left at 5:15am!! We had breakfast and hung out some more after that. JeMarc and Michelle (our old friends from about 6 years ago) and their 6 week old, Eli, stayed a second night! We really enjoyed catching up with them and Kurt, and Mike and meeting his girl, Ashley.
After JeMarc & Michelle left yesterday evening, my little brother and sister came over to spend the night! For those of you that don't know, I have a half brother Will (age 7) and a half sister, Grace (age 4). To me, they are just my brother and sister though. We had fun with them, we played Life and watched PeeWee's Playhouse and finished the night with Follow That Bird, the old Sesame Street movie. It was fun. We just crashed upstairs on the floor, beanbags and couch around 11. I took them to Will's basketball game this morning.
Tonight we are having Worship again at our house! I'm excited, but think I need a nap in order to make it through the night!! Tomorrow I will be taking down Christmas decorations!
